Do all male cats spray before they are fixed?

Not all male cats spray before they are fixed. Some do, while others do not. Spraying is a territorial behaviour that is marked by urine, and usually begins at puberty, which for cats is typically around 6 to 12 months of age. However, some cats may start spraying earlier, while others may never spray at all, even if they are not neutered. Neutering a male cat will reduce or eliminate spraying behaviour, but it does not guarantee that it will stop completely.
