Is There Anything That Keeps Cat Hair From Sticking to Clothes?

If you own a cat, you have probably experienced the frustration of walking out of the house feeling like you're covered in cat hair from head to toe. Since indoor cats shed continuously, it is important to learn how to keep their hair under control so you can maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  1. Lint Rollers

    • Lint rollers are the best at removing pet hair quickly from the clothing you have on. These tools also work for spot-cleaning on furniture and bedding. You can buy special pet hair rollers, but any lint roller will work. Similarly, if you don't want to purchase a lint roller, you can simply roll a large piece of masking tape into a circle around your fingers and use that to remove the hair.

    Drying Machines

    • When you put your clothes in the dryer, the hot air that moves through the dryer separates the hair from your clothing, which is why it ends up in your lint filter and not stuck to your clothes. You can make this process even more effective by including a dryer sheet. Dryer sheets can also be used to remove hair from clothes outside the dryer. Just rub one of the sheets over your clothing and the hair will stick to the sheet, leaving your clothes hair-free.

    Grooming

    • Brushing cats every day or as needed (at least once every two weeks) will help you to reduce their shedding by removing a lot of the hair they would have shed in a controlled environment. If your cat requires frequent grooming, you could purchase a corner comb, which is a brush that attaches to your wall. Then your cat can save you some time by rubbing against it and grooming themselves. Giving your cat regular baths can also help prevent excessive shedding.

    Healthy Diet

    • What cats eat has a significant effect on the quality of their skin and coat. Upgrading your cat's food to a more expensive, high-quality brand may improve the coat and reduce shedding. Many cats also shed less when given an omega fatty acid supplement once daily in addition to their regular food.
