Create a visually engaging flyer. Describe the size, age, physical appearance and appealing qualities of your Siamese-mixed cat. Include the cat's name and a good photograph. Ideal photographs show cats calm and relaxed, with eyes in focus. Include your phone number and/or email address. Post them throughout your community, particularly where qualified adopters may see them: pet supply stores, veterinary offices, health food stores, libraries and churches.
Contact Siamese rescue groups (siameserescue.org). Click "Pick a Rescue" at the top of the page to contact one of the five affiliated Siamese rescues. Click "Unaffiliated Siamese Rescue" on the right side of the page to access links to rescues in other states. These groups may know of individuals looking to adopt Siamese or Siamese-mixed cats in your area. Inquire about bringing your cat to one of their adoption days or creating a courtesy posting on their website. Most rescues focus on taking in cats from high-risk shelters, but depending on the circumstances, they may be willing to take your cat.
Place an advertisement in your local or regional newspaper. Creatively and positively describe your Siamese-mixed cat. To screen out potential dealers or "bunchers" (laboratory suppliers), state that an adoption fee is required. Run the ad during periods of high readership, often Sundays.
Post a classified ad on Petfinder (petfinder.com). Click "Classifieds" in the top menu bar. Click "Post a Free Classified Ad" to access information on Petfinder classified ads. Click "Post a Free Classified Ad" at the bottom of the page to view information on avoiding scammers. Click "Post a Free Ad" at the bottom of the page. If not already registered, you will need to create a Petfinder account. Log on or enter registration information and click "Submit." Provide contact and pet information on the "Petfinder Classifieds" form. Upload a photograph and click "Submit."
