How to Find a Home for My Siamese Mix

A change in circumstances may make it impossible for a pet owner to keep a beloved feline family member. Surrendering your cat to an animal shelter, though the easiest solution, carries tremendous risk. Of the millions of cats entering the nation's shelters each year, more than 70 percent are euthanized for lack of available homes, according to the ASPCA. With some effort and time, you can find a new and loving permanent home for your Siamese-mixed cat. You should network and advertise, especially through targeted resources such as SiamList, an email newsletter connecting Siamese and Siamese-mixed cats in need of homes with those looking to adopt.

Most rescues focus on taking in cats from high-risk shelters, but depending on the circumstances, they may be willing to take your cat.
