Use a brush on your cat. This might not be your cat's favorite activity, but brushing the fur on a regular basis will help minimize loss of cat hair that can then get around your home.

    • 2

Bathe your cat occasionally, such as once a month. This will also help to cut back on shedding. Be sure to use pet shampoo to bathe your cat.

    • 3

Take your cat to the vet if you suspect a flea problem or skin irritation. Constant scratching will cause hair loss in your cat.

    • 4

Use a tape roller to remove cat hair from fabrics, such as your clothes, seating, cars or the cat's bed. Removing the cat hair from surfaces will help keep it out of the air.

Run a vacuum cleaner over the floors in your home on a regular basis. Every few days, vacuum the floors and upholstered furniture. Once a week, give your home a thorough vacuuming, which includes moving furniture and vacuuming in crevices.
