Hiding the Box With Cat Doors
Find an area in your home that is usually closed off to your cat, such as the door to the basement or an unused cabinet. This should be a space that has plenty of room for the litter box but is not in a heavily trafficked area so that your cat will have privacy when it needs to use the box.
Install a cat door in the basement or cabinet door. Place a new litter box in the basement or in the cabinet. This allows you to keep the litter box out of sight but it gives your cat access to it through the cat door.
Make sure that your cat is comfortable with the new litter box location and using the cat door before you remove the old litter box.
Cat Litter Box Furniture
Buy a piece of cat litter box furniture if your cat isn't comfortable using a cat door or if you don't have an extra space to hide the box. Cat litter box furniture mimics furniture pieces, such as cat homes, washstands or planters, but they have open space inside to hide the litter box and an opening for the cat to get in and out.
Put a new litter box in the bottom of the "furniture."
Give your cat time to get used to getting in and out of the litter box furniture before removing its old litter box.
