Cat Loader Tricks

CAT vehicles are heavy machinery which are often used in construction projects where large quantities of land or other heavy material must be moved. Some drivers with a great deal of professional experience working with the heavy machinery are able to perform tricks using the machines, and they will often perform these tricks as public attractions.
  1. General Safety

    • CAT machines are heavy machinery, which should not be operated under the influence of any substance, including alcohol and medicine which can cause drowsiness. Additionally, performing stunts on CAT machines should not be undertaken by amateur drivers. Performing tricks in a CAT machine should only be done by a professional driver, with proper safety oversights in place before the trick is performed, in order to ensure that nobody is injured and no property is damaged during the course of the trick being performed.

    Front End Loader Trick

    • Front end loaders are land-moving vehicles which feature a large bucket on two arms that extend from the front of the vehicle. The extended arms allow large amounts of dirt or other sediment to be loaded into the bucket, lifted up and transported to another area. Using the bucket at the front of the machine as a counterweight, and the arms of the loader as a lever to increase the downward torque provided by the weight, the loader's back wheels can be lifted off of the ground, causing the loader to lean forward on only its front wheels. Once balanced on two wheels, the loader can be carefully driven to move forward or backward on only two wheels.

    Bobcat Lifter Trick

    • A Bobcat lifter is a much smaller vehicle, capable of moving more quickly than the front end loader and capable of turning on a smaller radius. The lifter is used for raising and lowering pallets loaded with items which can be stacked, often in a warehouse. Using the Bobcat's higher speed and mobility, experienced drivers are able to perform impressive maneuvers on the vehicles, such as figure eights. When operating the vehicle on a slick surface, the vehicle can even be made to spin in place, like a top.

    Backhoe Trick

    • A backhoe is another vehicle designed for ground moving, and features a powerful shovel-like bucket which is used to scoop up large quantities of dirt or sediment. The body of the backhoe can swivel, allowing the dirt to be moved and dumped in a new location, making the machine ideal for digging large holes. The lifting arm of the backhoe is so powerful that it can even be used to lift up the weight of the hoe itself. By properly securing the hoe in a location where it is not likely to slip, and catching the teeth on the ground, the front of the vehicle can be levitated off the ground.
