How to Make a Poster for a Lost Cat

Losing your pet cat can be one of the most terrifying experiences, but it is essential that you remain calm. After you have thoroughly searched your home and property for the cat and are sure that he is, indeed, lost, make a phone call immediately to your local chapter of the Humane Society, ASPCA and community animal control officers to report your missing cat. Then, create clear posters with a photo and description of the cat to post in your neighborhood.

Instructions

    • 1

      Choose the best photo of your cat for the poster. Good photos clearly show the cat̵7;s face and any distinctive markings she has.

    • 2

      Tape the photo(s) to the center top of the legal-sized paper using regular office-style tape. You can use a small amount of tape so that the photos are easy to remove after copying.

    • 3

      Describe your lost cat, in large letters, using the marker. Include the breed, coloration and if he was wearing a collar. Include any reward you are offering and your contact information. Use clear, plain handwriting.

    • 4

      Make several color copies of this sheet with the photos and description.

    • 5

      Spread out the florescent poster board and color copies on a flat surface.

    • 6

      Attach, using the strong, clear packing tape, one color copy to the center of each piece of poster board.

    • 7

      Cover the color copy with a clear protective sheet to guard against moisture and wind. Secure it with the clear packing tape on all sides.

    • 8

      Write in strong, bold print, at least five inches high, across the top of the poster board, above the centered color copy, ̶0;REWARD.̶1; Across the bottom of the poster board, below the centered color copy, write ̶0;LOST CAT.̶1; Make sure these words are as large as you can fit on the poster. According to Missing Pet Partnership ̶0;...fluorescent posters are highly visible, effective and harder for people to tear down . . . Your goal with these poster boards is to make them very big, very noticeable and very brief.̶1;
