Using an old rag or paper towel, soak up the urine and dry thoroughly.

    • 2

Pour a mixture of three parts white vinegar and one part water on to the stained area. Let it sit for a minute and then soak up everything with another rag. Do this twice.

    • 3

Sprinkle a little baking soda on the stained area and let it sit overnight. Vacuum up the baking soda in the morning.

    • 4

If the odor persists, use 3% hydrogen peroxide. Pour a little on the stained area and let it dry. Hydrogen peroxide may discolor certain carpets and other materials, so be sure to try it out in some inconspicuous part of the floor.

Rinse the area thoroughly with warm water and dry.

If your can has stained an article of clothing, add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar to your laundry. Wash and dry the clothes, and the offensive odor will have disappeared.
