How to Change a Litter Box

Cats make terrific pets for families on the go because they largely can care of themselves. Most cats are sensitive to good hygiene and bathe themselves frequently. They also prefer to have their litter boxes as clean as possible. Follow these steps to provide for your cat's comfort.

      Lift the litter bag out of the litter box using handles on a disposable litter bag, and throw away the entire litter bag.

      Use a disinfectant wipe to wash the bottom of the litter box.

      Spray disinfectant spray in the bottom of the litter box.

      Place another disposable litter bag into the litter box with the corners of the bag lopping over the sides of the box.

      Sprinkle baking soda at the bottom of the litter box to absorb odor.

      Pour fresh cat litter on top of the baking soda, filling the litter box ½ to ¾ full.
