1. Look for the telltale signs. The easiest way to tell if your kitten is male or female is to look at its genitals. In male kittens, the penis is located on the underside of the body, just below the anus. In female kittens, the vulva is located on the underside of the body, just below the anus.
2. Feel for the testicles. If your kitten is male, you will be able to feel the testicles on either side of the penis. The testicles are usually about the size of a pea.
3. Check the distance between the anus and the genitals. In male kittens, the distance between the anus and the genitals is usually greater than in female kittens.
4. Ask your veterinarian. If you are still not sure whether your kitten is male or female, you can ask your veterinarian. Your veterinarian will be able to tell you for sure by looking at your kitten's genitals.
Additional Tips:
* If you are adopting a kitten from a shelter, the shelter staff will usually be able to tell you whether the kitten is male or female.
* If you are buying a kitten from a breeder, the breeder will usually provide you with a certificate of sex.
* If you are still not sure whether your kitten is male or female, you can take your kitten to a veterinarian for a sexing procedure.
