Will a cat try to catch and eat Mexican axolotl?

It's unlikely a cat would try to eat a Mexican axolotl. Here's why:

* Axolotls are amphibians: Cats are primarily carnivorous and their instinct is to hunt small mammals, birds, and fish. Axolotls, while living in water, are amphibians and might not trigger that same hunting instinct.

* Axolotls are not very appealing: Axolotls have a unique appearance with their feathery gills and slimy skin. This might make them unattractive prey for a cat.

* Axolotls are vulnerable: While not poisonous, axolotls have delicate skin and might be easily injured by a cat's claws.

* Cats are smart: Cats are usually curious about new things, but they are also cautious. If an axolotl moves slowly or doesn't seem like a suitable prey, a cat might simply ignore it.

Important Note: It's always best to keep your cat away from your axolotl's tank. Even if a cat doesn't try to eat it, it could accidentally harm the axolotl or contaminate the water.
