How to Use Peaches to Catch Cats

Cats can be finicky eaters but they can also be attracted to unexpected foods. Some food, such as chocolate and grapes, can be lethal to cats and should always be avoided. Other foods can be used in moderation or as an occasional treat. If a cat likes peaches, cut out the pits to prevent the pit from obstructing the digestive tract. Peaches can also be used to catch cats on your property.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the peaches into small pieces and remove the pits so they won't damage a cat's digestive system.

    • 2

Place peach slices into either an open cat carrier or in a live animal trap that will automatically shut when the cat enters it. Both options ensure the cat should not be harmed during the capture process. The carrier will require you to be present to close the door when the cat enters.

    • 3

Position the trap or the carrier in an area where the cat is likely to frequent. Ensure there are no other potential food items in the area. Do not place a live trap before or during a rainstorm since the cat could then be trapped in the rain for an extended period of time.

    • 4

Mix cat nip or a small amount of cat food with the peaches if the peaches alone have not been successful in a day or two. Replace the peach slices regularly to keep them fresh.
