How to Add Vinegar to a Cat's Diet

Vinegar is natural and can be good for your cat, but they do not enjoy the smell of it. Apple cider vinegar and white distilled vinegar can be used for cats, for their anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and metabolism- boosting benefits. Check with your cats' veterinarian if vinegar is okay to add to their diet or if your cat has a medical condition that cannot be helped with vinegar.

      Add 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to your cat's water bowl. Mixing vinegar in water is an easy way for cats' to receive the benefits of vinegar. Add vinegar to your cat's water bowl daily or as refills are needed. Ingesting vinegar will help cats regulate digestion, boost metabolism and fight infection.

      Help your cat fight off fleas and ticks by mixing 1/4 tsp. of distilled white vinegar in a water bowl. Use one 1/4 tsp. for a 10 lbs. cat and 1/2 tsp. for a 20 lbs cat.

      Vinegar can also be mixed into your cat's wet food. Mix 1/4 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar with 1/4 tbsp. of water. Mix this in with one can of moist cat food (any size can that your cat normally eats). Mix well in a bowl and pour into your cat's food dish. Make sure your cat eats all of the food in one serving. Repeat twice a day to help your cat with kidney stones, urinary tract infections, itching, obesity and a weak immune system.

      To mix with your cat's dry food, dilute 1/4 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 1/4 tablespoon water. Drizzle this over dry cat food and repeat daily. Allthough the smell will evaporate, some picky eaters may need to start with smaller amounts of vinegar until they get used to it.
