Homemade cat food not only provides complete nutrition for your best friend, but provides it in a form that enables the cat to effectively assimilate all the nutrients. This recipe is easy to make and will greatly benefit the health of any feline with kidney disease.
Things You'll Need
- 1 1/3 cups of cooked ground chicken, turkey or heart (about 2/3 pound) 4 eggs 4 cups of cooked white rice 2 tablespoons of cold-pressed soy oil, corn oil or safflower oil 1/8 teaspoon of iodized salt 1 teaspoon chopped parsley 1 teaspoon finely grated carrot 5,000 IU of vitamin A 1,500 milligrams of calcium 5 days' supply of cat multiple vitamins 50 milligrams of Level B Complex 2,500 milligrams of vitamin C (or ½ teaspoon of sodium ascorbate)
Instructions
Hard-boil and finely chop the eggs into a large mixing bowl.
Add the cooked ground meat, cooked white rice, salt, chopped parsley and grated carrot. Stir the ingredients well to combine them.
Stir in the oil. Blend the mixture very well.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8-by-8 baking pan. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of the pan, and bake for about 20 minutes. Set the pan on a rack until the mixture is cool enough for you to touch comfortably.
Add the vitamin A, calcium, multiple vitamins, Level B Complex and the vitamin C or sodium ascorbate to the mixture. Stir very well.
Store the cat food in an airtight container for up to five days in the refrigerator.
