Things You'll Need
- 3 c. wholewheat organic flour
- 2 c. soy flour
- 1 c. wheatgerm
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. non-fat powdered milk
- 1/2 c. brewers' yeast
- 15 oz canned mackerel
- 2 c. water
- 5 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp. cod liver oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a cookie sheet.
In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients (wholewheat and soy flours, wheatgerm, cornmeal, powdered milk and brewers' yeast).
In a medium bowl mash together mackerel with oils and water.
Turn wet ingredients into your dry mixture.
Using your hands, mix well until a tough dough is formed.
Turn dough out on a floured surface and roll until approximately 1/4" thick.
Using a pizza cutter cut dough into 1/4" or smaller squares.
Place squares onto cookie sheets and bake for 20-25 minutes until brown, remembering to turn every 5 - 10 minutes to ensure even cooking.
Remove from oven and place on tea towel to cool.
