How to Make Organic Kitty Treats

Just as it is important to feed your children whole foods, we should consider it just as important to feed our pets in the same fashion. Making homemade treats for your precious feline friend is not only fun to do, but is a healthy alternative to feeding them questionable ingredients.

Instructions

    • 1

Combine dry ingredients. Combine all five of the dry ingredients into a medium bowl.

    • 2

Combine liquid. In a separate bowl, combine the 1/2 of egg, cod liver oil and water. Beat it well and then add it to the dry mixture.

    • 3

Mix it thoroughly. Mix all the ingredients very well, adding more flour if it is needed. Continue mixing it until the batter is sticky, like cookie dough.

    • 4

Divide batter into sections. Roll one section of dough on a lightly floured surface. Make a long rope approximately 1/4 inch in diameter and cut treats 1/4 inch in length. Repeat the process or freeze the remaining dough.

    • 5

Bake. Place the kitty treat pieces onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Brush on the remaining 1/2 of the egg. Bake for two additional minutes.
