Change their water often. Do you like to drink water that has been sitting out for hours? Neither do cats, so make sure you are giving him fresh water every couple of hours. You might want to even try bottle water instead of tap water. Some cats don’t like the chlorine taste in the tap water.
Have more than one water dish available. Place them in different rooms of your house so your cat has easy access to the water whenever he wants.
Get a cat drinking fountain. They now make water fountains for cats that filter and circulate their water. The added bonus of having one of these is your cat will be less likely to jump on counters to drink from the faucet.
Feed your cat canned/wet cat food. Canned cat food contains more water than dry and cats get most of their daily water intake when they eat. You can also mix in a little extra water with the food to provide even more water to the diet.
Give them cat’s milk. They now make special cat milk that is easy for your kitty to digest. This can be found is most grocery stores.
