Feed dogs that are 3 to 12 pounds from 1/3 to 1 cup of food per day.
Dogs that are 13 to 20 pounds should be fed 1 to 1 1/3 cups daily, and feed dogs 21 to 35 pounds approximately 1 1/3 to 2 cups per day.
Feed canines that weigh 36 to 50 pounds between 2 to 2 2/3 cups daily. Dogs that weigh between 51 to 75 pounds should eat 2 2/3 to 3 1/3 cups per day, and dogs weighing 76 to 100 pounds should be fed 3 1/3 to 4 1/4 cups a day.
Feed dogs over 100 pounds 4 1/4 cups plus 1/4 cup for each pounds of additional body weight exceeding 100 pounds. For instance, if the dog weighs 112, feed it 4 1/2 cups.
Monitor your dog's body shape to ensure that you aren't feeding it too little or too much. Stand above the dog and look down on its back. If you can see the slight outline of ribs and detect a waistline, it's in ideal shape. If the you can clearly see the ribs or your dog has no waistline and a rounded belly, you need to feed it more or less. Adjust portions as needed and view your dog's body shape within 2 to 3 weeks of the feeding adjustment.
