Instructions

  1. Baked Food Blend

    • 1

Place 2 cups whole-wheat flour and 1/2 cup each of soy flour, wheat germ and brewers yeast into a large mixing bowl. Add 1-1/2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour, 1 cup each non-fat dried powdered milk, cornmeal and rolled oats. Add 1 tbsp. salt. Stir all ingredients until combined using a wooden spoon. Mix in 3 cups room temperature tap water.

    • 2

Crack one egg into a medium bowl. Add 5 tbsp. corn oil and whisk together using a fork.

    • 3

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture. Stir to combine, making sure the two mixtures combine thoroughly. The batter will be runny.

    • 4

Pour half of the batter onto a large cookie sheet so you have a 1/2-inch layer. Spread the batter around with a spatula. Either place the remaining half of the batter on a second cookie sheet, spreading it in the same manner, or place the bowl aside and save it until you are finished cooking the first batch.

    • 5

Bake the batter for 45 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Remove and allow the dog food to cool completely. Once cooled, break it into small chunks.

    • 6

Store the dog food in an airtight container in the refrigerator or in zip top bags in the freezer. After both batches are baked, you should have 20 cups of dog food.

    Raw Food Blend

    • 7

Place 1 lb. raw ground beef, 1 cup each pureed carrots and peas and 3 oz. raw, chopped cow's liver in a large mixing bowl.

    • 8

Stir in 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 2 chopped garlic cloves.

    • 9

Add 1 tbsp. ground kelp, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 3 eggs and a 1/4 cup chopped, fresh parsley. Stir all ingredients to combine. Depending on your dog's food preferences, keep the mixture whole or blend it up in a blender to make puree.

    • 10

Place the mixture in a plastic storage container. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
