How to Feed Dogs Esbilac Goat's Milk

Newborn puppies that can't nurse from the mother can be fed goat's milk in the form of Esbilac powder formula. Esbilac milk formula is nutritionally balanced to meet a puppy's needs. The amount to feed a puppy is based on the puppy's weight. You should weigh the puppy three times a week to ensure you are feeding it adequate amounts of Esbilac formula.

Instructions

    • 1

Weigh the puppy. Weigh yourself. Then pick up the puppy and weigh yourself holding the dog. Subtract your weight from the combined weight of you and the puppy.

    • 2

Measure one part of Esbilac powder to two parts of warm water. Don't mix any more than the puppy can consume in 24 hours.

    • 3

Use a small animal nurser to feed the puppy. Feed the pup two tablespoons of Esbilac mixture for every four ounces it weighs daily. Young or weak puppies should be fed every three or four hours. Older puppies can be fed every eight hours. The amount may have to be increased or decreased, depending on the individual puppy's needs.

    • 4

Begin offering Esbilac reconstituted goat's milk in a saucer when the puppy is old enough to lap up the formula.

    • 5

Mix reconstituted Esbilac with Esbilac puppy weaning food after five weeks to begin weaning the puppy onto solid food. Follow instructions on the weaning food for amounts.
