Instructions
Figure out how much to feed your pug on a daily basis. Adult pugs eat 1/2 an ounce for each pound of weight. For example, a 20 lb. pug will eat 10 ounces of food daily.
Multiply the daily food amount by seven. This is the amount of food to cook for your pug each week. For example, 10 multiplied by seven is 70 ounces of food.
Divide the weekly food amount into food category percentages. The natural food diet is 40 percent protein, 30 percent vegetables and 30 percent starch. In the example of 70 ounces per week, the diet is 28 ounces of protein, 21 ounces of vegetables and 21 ounces of starch.
Create a shopping list based on the food amounts. Protein can be chicken, beef or organ meats. Vegetables include green beans, carrots, spinach, broccoli and zucchini. Starch includes white or brown rice and sweet potatoes. Add chicken broth and a dog vitamin supplement to the list.
Purchase the weekly amount of protein, vegetables and starch ingredients. Purchase enough chicken broth to make a stew.
Chop all of the ingredients into very small pieces, no larger than 2 inches across. Pugs have small mouths.
Set a large saucepan on the stove. Add the chicken broth, the protein, the vegetables and the starch. Do not add any seasonings. Simmer the mixture. The mixture should be tender but not soupy.
Divide the stew into seven daily portions and refrigerate it in plastic containers.
Allow the food to come to room temperature and put a dog vitamin supplement into the food before serving it. Do not leave food out.
