How to Make Foods Similar to Puppy Chow

  • Baking sheet
  • Olive oil
  • 2 cups (approximately 1 lb.) cooked ground beef, pork or veal
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • Frying pan
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1 cup skim milk powder
  • 1 tsp. bone meal
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • Spoons
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 cups water

Instructions

      Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a large baking sheet with olive oil.

      Fry the meat and grated carrot in a pan until thoroughly cooked. Lay aside to cool slightly.

      Create the dry mixture by combining the whole wheat flour, rye flour, skim milk powder and bone meal in a large mixing bowl.

      Create the wet mixture by beating the eggs in a small mixing bowl and stirring in the vegetable oil, garlic and Worcestershire sauce.

      Add water to the dry mixture and stir until combined. Fold in the wet mixture and stir well. Add the cooked meat and stir into a dough.

      Smooth the dough 1/2 inch thick onto the greased cookie sheet. Place on the middle rack of your oven and bake for 45 minutes.

      Cool dough slightly and cut into bite-sized squares. Refrigerate kibble for up to 2 days or freeze unused portions.
