Things You'll Need
- Plain, non-fat yogurt
- Dry dog food
- Thick rubber dog toy with a hole in one end
Instructions
Mix With Kibble
Pour 1 cup of dry dog food or kibble in to a bowl.
Put 2 tbsp. of plain non-fat yogurt in the bowl with the dry dog food.
Mix the yogurt with the dry food. Make sure you mix the yogurt in well with the dog food to avoid large clumps of yogurt forming. This way the dog will get an even amount of kibble and yogurt with each bite.
Spoon Feed
Use a spoon and scoop a tbsp. of plain non-fat yogurt out of the yogurt container.
Have the dog sit in front of you and put the spoon of yogurt by its mouth.
Allow the dog to lick at the yogurt; do not try to force the spoon in the dog's mouth. Two tbsp. of yogurt is a healthy amount to feed a dog.
Use Toys
Add 2 tbsp. of plain non-fat yogurt to a thick rubber dog toy that has a hole in one end. These toys are made to have treats hidden inside.
Put the toy on the floor for the dog to play with.
Allow the dog to play with the rubber toy and try to reach the yogurt treat hidden inside.
Rinse the rubber dog toy out thoroughly when the dog is done playing and has eaten most or all of the yogurt.
