Good Treats for Dogs With Diabetes
Dogs with diabetes have a deficiency of insulin, a hormone of the pancreas. Insulin is used to transfer sugar from the blood to cells to be used as energy. In dogs with diabetes, the lack of insulin causes the sugar to accumulate in the blood. This can cause frequent drinking and urination, vomiting and poor energy. Providing diabetic dogs with a proper diet is necessary in contributing to good health of the dogs. Diabetic dog treats, whether homemade or store purchased, can contribute greatly to a dog's energy and health.
