Things You'll Need
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 2 cups of ground turkey or beef meat
- 3 cups vegetable puree
- Oil
- Cookie sheet
- Oven
- 1 pound of liver (chicken livers work well)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup corn meal
- Tin foil
- Cookie cutters
Instructions
Baked Dog Biscuits
Mix a tablespoon of yeast with a cup of warm water and let it sit covered. Mix vegetable puree, meat and water and yeast mixture together in a bowl large enough that it is easy for you to stir the mixture.
Spread this mixture on a cookie sheet. The mixture should be one inch thick. Use a spatula to help smooth the surface and edges. Use the knife to cut bite-sized pieces. Bake this for 45 minutes. Once done, switch off the oven and let the biscuits rest inside until they cool to room temperature.
Break up the pieces and store them in an airtight container. You can store them for a maximum of three days in the fridge.
Liver Biscuits
Puree the liver and set it aside. Use a pound of beef or fish instead of liver to create beef or fish cookies.
Mix the liver, flour, cornmeal and 1 tbsp of oil thoroughly in a bowl and spread the mixture on a tin foil-lined cookie sheet. Use the cookie cutter to cut out bite-sized bits. Gather the scraps from around the cut out shapes, make into a ball, flatten on more oiled foil and cut again until you have shaped all of the mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for half an hour. Once cool, store the biscuits in airtight jars for immediate use. You can also freeze them for future use. They thaw rather quickly. You can store food in the fridge for three days.
