Instructions

    • 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    • 2

Pour 2 cups of whole wheat flour and 1 cup of rye flour into a mixing bowl. Add 2 tsp. of flax seeds and mix.

    • 3

Dice up 1 apple and add it to the mixing bowl.

    • 4

Crack an egg into a separate bowl and whisk. Add it to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

    • 5

Add 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, 1/2 cup of water and 1/4 cup of natural applesauce to the mixture. Combine all of the ingredients together well.

    • 6

Sprinkle flour over a clean counter or cutting board. Take the thick dough mixture out of the mixing bowl and lay it on the floured surface. Roll it out until it's 1/4-inch thick.

    • 7

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Cut out pieces of the dough with cookie cutters and transfer them onto the cookie sheet.

    • 8

Bake the biscuits in the oven for 35 minutes and then turn off the oven. Leave the biscuits in the oven overnight so they can harden.
