Instructions
Set a timetable for feeding the puppies. Make sure the times fit with your schedule and you can stick to them consistently. Generally, 6- to 12-week-old puppies should be fed four times a day, 13-week-old to 6-month-old puppies should be fed three times a day. Young dogs older than six months can be fed twice a day.
Measure an appropriate amount of dry dog food into bowls and place each bowl in front of a puppy. Leave the food for 10 to 15 minutes. Give a puppy some more food if it finishes everything in the bowl. Allow the puppies to eat as much as they want within this period, then remove the food.
Keep food away from the puppies between mealtimes. Treats are great to use for training, but keep those limited, too. Puppies should have enough food for a healthy development but still be eager to eat when mealtime comes.
How to Feed Puppies on a Timetable With Dry Dog Food
Feeding puppies on a timetable with dry dog food is easier than it seems. Puppies adjust to new things readily, and once they are used to a schedule they will follow it well. Puppies thrive on consistency and stability, so a regular feeding timetable is helpful to you and them. If you feed puppies on a timetable with dry dog food, you can plan for potty breaks, making house training easier.
