Instructions
Select human-grade meat, such as chicken or turkey. You can even feed your pug beef or chicken liver. The meat should be free of antibiotics and hormones.
Cook the meat in some water until it is tender and can be easily separated from the bone.
Let the meat cool. Remove the meat from the bone and strain the soup to get rid of the gristle and fat.
Return the soup to the pot and add more water. Add brown rice to the water and cook it until it is done.
Add fresh or frozen vegetables, such as carrots, green beans, broccoli, sweet potato and asparagus to the boiling rice, and allow them to cook until just tender. Do not overcook the vegetables. You want your pug to chew instead of swallowing mushy and overcooked vegetables.
Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. Do not cut the pieces too small or your pug will swallow it without chewing. This could lead to digestive problems.
Let the rice and stew cool before serving your pug.
