Instructions

    • 1

Check local grocery ads to base your dog's meals around what is on sale.

    • 2

Purchase in bulk. Purchasing in bulk will reduce the cost per serving.

    • 3

Gather yesterday's leftovers. Any bread, rice or leftover meat can be added to homemade dog food.

    • 4

Place chicken (or other meat), rice, vegetables (diced into small pieces) and any leftovers into a large pan.

    • 5

Stir in water (or one part water and one part stock for flavor) until smooth.

    • 6

Bring to a boil over medium heat and keep stirring.

    • 7

Reduce heat to low for about 25 minutes until rice has become tender and liquid has been absorbed.

    • 8

      Cool completely before serving.

    • 9

Add a teaspoon of fish oil or an egg prior to serving if desired.
