Instructions
Choose a place in your kitchen for the dog food station. It must be in an area that's out of the way, and if you have small children, it should be a place that they cannot access. If you have a dog door or doggie bed in the kitchen, consider setting up the station nearby so your dog can have his resources all in one area.
Place a large mat in the chosen area. It should be made of plastic or vinyl so it can be easily cleaned, with an anti-sliding material on the bottom so it sticks to the floor. The mat should be large enough for the dog to stand on with a food and water bowl.
Choose a food and water bowl system that's suitable for your dog. Water systems can range from a large bowl of water that you change every day, to a more advanced filtration and cycling system. Some food bowls use a portion system, where only one portion of the food is accessible each day. Or you can choose a bowl that you refill yourself. The choice depends upon your dog and how much money you want to spend.
Set up a cabinet in your kitchen with your dog's treats, bones, brushes and leashes, if desired.
