How to Make Garbanzo Bean Biscuits for Dogs

If your veterinarian says that your dog is sensitive or allergic to grain, it makes feeding your four-legged pal a bit more challenging, and finding suitable doggy treats even harder. However, just because your pooch can't eat grains doesn't mean he can't have some yummy dog biscuits made of garbanzo bean flour.

Things You'll Need

  • 2 lb. fresh beef liver
  • Food processor or blender
  • 2 large eggs
  • Large mixing bowl
  • 1 1/2 cups garbanzo bean flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tsp. garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh parsley, chopped, or 2 tsp. dried parsley
  • Wooden spoon
  • Aluminum foil

      Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

      Put 2 lbs. of beef liver in a food processor or blender, and add 2 large eggs.

      Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl and stir in 1 1/2 cups of garbanzo flour, 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese, 2 tsp. of chopped garlic and a sprig of chopped fresh parsley. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a wooden spoon.

      Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and spread the garbanzo bean biscuit mixture in the pan.

      Bake the garbanzo bean biscuits for 25 minutes and remove them from the oven to let them cool.

      Peel the aluminum foil off the back of the biscuits and cut them into bite sized pieces.

      Store the garbanzo bean dog biscuits in the refrigerator.
