Instructions
Consult your veterinarian to determine the best kind of raw meat for your dog. Some dogs have allergies or medical conditions that will prevent them from eating certain foods.
Buy fresh meat from a butcher, if possible. Frozen meat loses some of its nutrients.
Sanitize all surfaces and utensils that will come into contact with the homemade dog food. Domesticated dogs have a weaker immune system than wild dogs so, it is very important to follow proper food safety procedures.
Cut open the meat package and dump the meat into a bowl.
Discard any inedible pieces and the packaging.
Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces for your dog and place in a serving bowl or storage container. The pieces should be small enough so the dog doesn't choke. Mix all other necessary ingredients with the meat.
Wash your hands and any surfaces or utensils that came into contact with the raw meat.
How to Use Raw Meat In Homemade Dog Food
Feeding your dog homemade dog food is a safe alternative to commercial dog food. Sometimes, homemade dog food is the only option that a dog owner has because of certain allergies and health conditions. Homemade dog food must contain a balanced mix of protein, fat, vegetables and grains.
