How to Make Natural Dog Biscuits

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup safflower oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 tbsp. creamy peanut butter
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 cup corn meal
  • Flour
  • Large bowl
  • Wooden spoon or wire whisk
  • Electric mixer
  • 6 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Natural Dog Biscuits

      Mix the water, eggs, oil, peanut butter and vanilla in a large bowl with a wooden spoon or a wire whisk.

      Stir in the whole wheat flour, cornmeal and oatmeal and blend together with an electric mixer.

      Place a small portion of the mixture on a floured board, and sprinkle some flour on top of the dough. Knead the dough until it is pliable, adding more flour as you go.

      Roll the dough until it is approximately 1/2-inch thick and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.

      Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the remaining dough.

      Place the natural dog biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet and bake them at 400 F for approximately 20 to 25 minutes. (Thicker biscuits will take a bit longer.) Turn off the oven and leave the natural dog biscuits there for about 20 minutes, or until crispy.

      Mix the garlic powder and flour in a large bowl.
