- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled into small bits
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup bacon fat
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup powdered milk
- 2 cups wheat germ
- 2 1/2 cups graham flour
- 1/3 cup cornmeal
- Oil
- Cookie sheet
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/3 cup margarine or butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 1 lb. bacon, crumbled into bits
- 1 cup wheat germ
- Baking sheets
Instructions
Doggie Bacon Bit Treats
Mix the bacon, eggs, bacon fat, water, powdered milk, wheat germ, graham flour and cornmeal in a large bowl with a heavy wooden spoon. The mixture will be very thick.
Put heaping spoonfuls of the bacon bit mixture on an oiled cookie sheet and flatten them slightly.
Bake the doggie bacon bits at 350 F for 15 minutes.
Leave the doggie bacon bits in the oven to dry overnight, with the heat off.
Crumble the doggie bacon bit treats into bite-sized chunks.
Store the doggie bacon bit treats in a sealed container
Cheesy Doggie Bacon Bits
Mix the flour, salt and soda in a small mixing bowl.
Cream together the butter and sugar, and add the vanilla and egg.
Add the dry ingredients to the mixture and stir until completely mixed.
Stir in the cheese, oats, bacon and wheat germ.
Drop spoonfuls of the dough on an ungreased baking sheet and flatten them slightly. Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.
Let the cheesy doggie bacon bits cool, and break them into bite-size chunks.
Store the cheesy doggie bacon bits in a sealed container.
