Talk to a veterinarian for advice before making your own kitty food. A cat can be very sensitive to food, and too much meat and vitamins can cause serious health problems. A veterinarian may also be able to provide you with recipes and tips for making the kitty food.
Do not cook the meat, as it is more nutritious eaten raw for your kitty and cooking it will destroy much of its vitamin B content. Chicken is more digestible than red meat, but you can also use rabbit or liver. Chop the meat into small pieces so your cat can easily eat it. You can add a variety of meats, or just use one type, and mix with a small amount of a cool, but cooked, green vegetable, such as a piece of chopped broccoli, to create a simple meat stew. You should prepare enough to fill your kitty's bowl. Twice a week you can also add an uncooked egg yolk into the mixture for variety and added iron and protein.
Give her fish twice a week. You can use any type of fish, but an oily fish like tuna is often popular with cats. Be sure to remove any bones from the fish, and cooking it will keep the vitamins intact. Boiling or pressure cooking fish will also soften any bones. For extra calcium you can add 1 to 2 tbsp. of cream to the fish.
