How to Make Natural Cat Food

Like all animals, domestic cats need a proper diet to thrive. Although there are plenty of commercial cat foods available that claim to be healthy, the truth is that a natural diet will serve your cat's health more effectively. Before they were bred as pets, cats survived in the wild by eating a diet rich in meats. The mass-produced, store-bought alternatives do not come close to providing the same nutrition. According to Know Better Pet Food, a natural pet food manufacturer, common cat foods have been linked to problems like kidney disease and diabetes. If this concerns you, creating your own natural cat food is an effective alternative.

Instructions

Select a protein. Choose one type of meat from the protein list, such as chicken breast, ground turkey, lean beef or ground hearts. Place the protein in the blender.

    • 2

Add in the olive oil, calcium, pureed vegetables -- broccoli, sweet potato, peas, carrots, green beans, cauliflower and brussel sprouts are a few suggestions -- and one cat vitamin supplement into the blender.

    • 3

Turn the blender on at medium speed and blend the mixture for 20 to 30 seconds. This will ensure that all the ingredients are distributed evenly. Feed the mix to your cat twice daily. This amount allows for three servings. Refrigerate the rest.
