Instructions
Position the kitten into your lap and onto your towel. Gently stoke its fur and pet it for 5 minutes or until the kitten begins to flex it claws or verbally purr. You are creating the most comfortable situation for your orphaned kitten by re-creating the kitten's mother's environment.
Fill the syringe with the whole cream and attempt to place it gently into the kitten's mouth. If you are successful, simply squirt the liquid into the kitten's mouth by gently holding the kitten's head upwards. After a few squirts with the syringe, your kitten will being to associate the syringe with cream and will be much more willing to hold still. If your kitten continuously resists, gently clamp your hands on its lower jaws and press inwards with your thumb. This will force the kitten to open its mouth --- but not without a loud yelp or screech. Despite the kitten's howls, feeding the kitten until it can see the vet the next day is crucial for its survival as a developing kitten.
Sooth and pet the kitten softly after it has consumed 1 cup of the whole cream. Soothing the kitten after you have assist fed it is essential to ensure that the kitten's stress levels remain as low as possible until it can see the vet the next day.
