How do cats perspire?

Cats don't perspire the way humans do. They don't have sweat glands on their skin like we do. Instead, cats cool themselves through:

* Panting: Like dogs, cats pant when they get hot to increase evaporation and cool down.

* Footpads: They have sweat glands on their footpads, but these are mainly for traction and don't contribute much to temperature regulation.

* Licking: Cats lick themselves to distribute saliva over their fur, which helps to cool them down through evaporation.

So, while you won't see a cat sweating like a human, they do have ways to stay cool and comfortable!
