Why do cats woof?

Cats don't woof! That's a sound typically associated with dogs.

Cats have a variety of vocalizations, including:

* Meow: The most common cat sound, used for a variety of things like greeting, asking for food, or getting attention.

* Chirp: A short, high-pitched sound often used when excited or playing.

* Hiss: A warning sound, often accompanied by flattened ears and a raised tail.

* Growl: A low, rumbling sound used to show aggression or fear.

* Purr: A low, vibrating sound often associated with contentment or relaxation.

So, while your cat may make a sound that resembles a "woof" occasionally, it's not actually a woof! They may be making one of these other noises, or something unique to their own personality.
