Instructions
Place commercial cat deterrents on boundaries that prevent cats from crossing over onto the patio. Place deterrent sticks in the ground and hang deterrent soaked rags around the perimeter, which will give off a scent that most cats find unpleasant. Place electronic deterrent alarms in areas where cats are most likely to access the patio to prevent them from getting onto the property.
Use organic deterrents that are harmless, yet effective. Pennyroyal, rosemary and rue are a few plants that many cats will not cross over or use to mark their territory. Place organic deterrents such as used coffee grounds on the edges of the patio parameter, along with back up methods of organic animal deterrents are available at pet supply stores to prevent stubborn cats from returning as well.
Remove sources of food such as garbage and empty plant holders that catch water so that cats do not have a place to eat and drink. Fold up lawn chairs to prevent cats from having a place to sleep and hide. Place strips of prickly mats or double sided tape on the parameters to deter cats from walking the premises.
