White Vinegar
-
White vinegar is an excellent natural product to use against the stench of cat urine. Mix the vinegar with warm water and apply to the urinated clothing, scrub out and leave to dry.
Apple Cider Vinegar
-
Apple cider vinegar is good at removing cat urine smells from textures. It can be used in the washing machine or in hand washing on rugs, clothes or bedding. This is another effective natural remedy and does not require a lot of effort or money.
Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide
-
Blot the urinated area with a damp soapy cloth to remove as much of the urine as possible. After the area is dry, apply just a sprinkle of baking soda. Then add a small cap full of hydrogen peroxide solution. Be sure to practice with the hydrogen peroxide on a small area of the carpet to ensure it doesn't bleach the carpet. Scrub with a brush and rinse out.
Bleach
-
Bleach is not recommended for all textiles or material as it bleaches some colors. However, it is a good scent killer for for white items of clothing. Be sure to test it on a small area first. Using the bleach will rob the area of it's odour, but will replace it with a bleachy smell. This however will soon evaporate.
