The feline reproductive system consists of the organs used for creating new life. The reproductive system of cats is similar to that of humans. Cats can produce one to two litters of live young annually. Litters range in size from one to 10 kittens. The typical cat gestational period is between 50 and 60 days. Viewing the feline anatomy can help you become better acquainted with the reproductive system. There are several resources you can use to view the reproductive system of a cat.

Corresponding images will appear on your computer screen allowing you to view the reproductive systems of a male and female cat.

      Visit your local library. Encyclopedias and books covering feline anatomy will be in the animal section. Ask the librarian for additional resources such as articles or microfiche. Microfiche are flat slides that are put through a magnifying system to make them viewable.

      Talk to your veterinarian. Many veterinarian offices have educational aids in their offices. They may also have surgery videos or pictures that they will allow you to view.

      Contact the biology department of the university or college closest to you. Students in many college biology courses dissect cats and other mammals as an educational aide. The school may allow you to audit the class to view the procedure. They may also have slides and other reference material available for you to view.
