How to Stop Cats From Scratching Furniture With a Home Remedy Spray

It is difficult to train a cat to stop clawing the furniture, so an alternative to is concoct a homemade indoor cat repellent that can be sprayed onto the pieces without creating an unpleasant odor inside your home.

Things You'll Need

Plastic spray bottle
1 cup water
10 drops lemongrass oil
10 drops eucalyptus oil

Instructions

  Fill a plastic spray bottle with 1 cup of water.

  Add 10 drops of lemongrass oil to the bottle.

  Add 10 drops of eucalyptus oil to the bottle. Both of these scents are unpleasant to cats and will keep them away from your furniture.

  Shake the bottle vigorously. While holding it at least 1 foot away from your furniture, spray a light misting over the area of the piece that the cat concentrates its scratching, such as the arms and the sides of a sofa or chair.
