  • Plastic spray bottle
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 drops lemongrass oil
  • 10 drops eucalyptus oil

      Fill a plastic spray bottle with 1 cup of water.

      Add 10 drops of lemongrass oil to the bottle.

      Add 10 drops of eucalyptus oil to the bottle. Both of these scents are unpleasant to cats and will keep them away from your furniture.

      Shake the bottle vigorously. While holding it at least 1 foot away from your furniture, spray a light misting over the area of the piece that the cat concentrates its scratching, such as the arms and the sides of a sofa or chair.
