How to Remove Cat Urine From Piano Keys

Dogs are known as man’s best friend, but many people prefer the independent, adorable and downright funny feline species. Like any other pet, cats can have accidents and create a mess. When your cat accidentally leaves a urine stain on your piano keys, you may be left dumbfounded as to why he would choose that spot. No matter his reasons, the urine--as well as improper cleaning--can damage the keys beyond repair. Fortunately, you can remove the urine from the piano keys with relative ease and a few simple household items.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the fresh cat urine by gently wiping the piano keys with a soft cloth. Do not use an abrasive cloth as it may scratch the keys.

    • 2

Combine 1 cup of distilled white vinegar and 2 cups of warm water in a small container. Vinegar is an all-natural deodorizer and neutralizer that removes urine as well as its odor.

    • 3

Saturate a soft, lint-free cloth in the vinegar mixture and wring out the excess liquid.

    • 4

Wipe the piano keys gently with the soft, lint-free cloth. Continue in this manner until all keys have been cleaned.

    • 5

Dry the piano keys by gently wiping them with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.
