Homemade Cat Urine Remover

Whether you have a carpet or piece of furniture in your home that has been urine-soaked by your cat, or you have issues with neighborhood felines using your outdoor areas for a potty pad, you can make up a batch of remover to solve the issue. The specific combination of a few household ingredients can remove the urine odor and restore your property to an unsoiled state.

Things You'll Need

  • Paper towels
  • Spray bottle
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/8 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 1 tsp. mild liquid dish soap
  • Vacuum or broom

Instructions

      Pour 1 cup of water and 1 cup of white vinegar into a clean spray bottle, close and shake lightly to mix. Spray this on the affected area. Allow it to soak in for five minutes, and blot dry with paper towels.

      Measure 1/8 cup of baking soda, and sprinkle it on the area. Mix 1 tsp. of mild liquid dish soap with 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide. Pour over the baking soda.

      Allow to completely dry overnight. Vacuum or sweep up the residue.
