Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Dish detergent
- Sponge
- Club soda
- Enzymatic pet-odor remover
Instructions
Blot the area with paper towels as soon as you discover the urine. Soak up as much of the urine from the fabric as possible.
Mix a small amount of dish detergent with water. Saturate the area with the soapy liquid and allow it to sit for one hour. Rinse the area clean with a wet sponge.
Saturate the area with club soda and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Blot the area with paper towels to remove most of the moisture and allow to dry overnight.
Spray the area thoroughly with an enzymatic pet-odor remover. These can be found at pet stores and most supermarkets. The enzymes in these cleaners will break down the odor rather than masking it. Follow the directions for the particular enzymatic cleaner you purchased. Let the area dry completely after using the enzymatic cleaner.
Repeat use of the enzymatic cleaner as necessary until the odor is eliminated completely, allowing ample drying time between cleanings.
