How to Get Rid of Cat Odor Underneath a House

If there are any openings to your basement or crawl space, it is possible for animals to get under your house. A common animal found underneath of houses is a wild cat. Stray cats may begin using your crawl space as their own personal litter box without you even knowing it. Eventually, you will begin to smell this strong odor, which will not go away unless you do something about it.

Look under the house to locate the spots where the cat has urinated. Use a shovel to remove the soiled dirt and place it in a trash bag. Discard on trash day.

    • 2

Combine the following ingredients in a large bucket: hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish detergent. Pour the ingredients on the ground underneath your home. This mixture will eliminate any cat odors that you have been smelling.

    • 3

Set an open box of baking soda in each corner for continuous odor control. This will take care of any lingering odors.

Board up any entrances to your basement, or crawl spaces. This is the only way to prevent the wild cats from creating more odors in the future.
