Home Remedies to Remove Cat Urine From Parquet Floors

Cat urine is one of the unfortunate side effects of cat ownership. It stinks, and if the cat urinates somewhere it shouldn't, such as the carpet or parquet floor, it can be a pain to remove. Soak up the urine quickly to prevent it soaking into the parquet floor, and then use some home remedies to leave your floor looking and smelling fresh and clean.
  1. Vinegar

    • Combine one part vinegar to two parts warm water in a spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the parquet floor and rub gently with an old rag or paper towel. Allow the vinegar solution to dry, then wipe clean with warm water. Dry thoroughly.

    Hydrogen Peroxide

    • Mix 15 ounces of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide with 2 tablespoons of baking soda and some liquid hand soap. Spread a thin layer of the mixture over the urine stain. Wet a rag with warm water and gently wipe up the mixture. Make sure you remove all of the solution from the parquet floor and dry thoroughly.

    Baking Soda

    • Use a baking soda-based cleaner to address the cat urine on your parquet floor. Mix together enough water with the baking soda to make a paste, and apply it directly to the stain. Allow to air dry; this may take more than a day. Vacuum up the baking soda once the paste is dry, using a soft brush to loosen any caked-on bits. This method should remove the odor from deep inside the parquet floor.
