Give your cat a lot of attention. The more attention you give it, the more relaxed it will be. Not so much kissing, but pet it where it likes to be pet.
Feed your cat the food it likes, dry cat food and some wet as well as fresh water everyday, even twice a day if you have time. This is one way to show it your love and it will thank you with purrs and again, it will make your cat more relaxed.
When you want your cat to cuddle, pet it's head first when it is ready to be pet, the best way is when it comes to you for pets first. That means your cat is ready and willing to be pet. Pet it's head, scratch it's neck. Not too rough, but enough to where it starts to purr. Keep doing this until your cat is so relaxed it is purring and ready to fall asleep. At this point, your cat is almost as close to putty in your hands as you will ever get it. You can very gently move your cat, while still petting it, to cuddle in your arms. You have to be gentle though, if you alarm your cat's relaxation it can and will run away. Keep petting it where it likes to be pet and move to your arms to cuddle. Keep petting it until it sleeps and there you most likely will have your cat cuddling with you until it's time for your cat to wake up to play, eat or use the restroom.
