Instructions
Method One
Use clean paper towels or old rag to absorb as much of the urine as possible. If you do not know where the urine is or the spot already dried, locate it by using a black light. Turn off the room lights and pass the black light over the carpet. The urine spot will glow.
Mix one part white distilled vinegar with one part water into a spray bottle. Spray the spot with the vinegar mixture until the area is saturated. Allow the spot to mostly dry. If you want to expedite the drying process, use a clean paper towel to absorb the moisture. Or use a steam cleaner to absorb the vinegar solution.
Sprinkle baking soda on top of the mostly dried vinegar spot. Use enough baking soda to thoroughly coat the spot. Mix a teaspoon of dish detergent and a quarter of a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Pour the detergent mixture onto the baking soda. Use a scrub brush to work the baking soda into the spot. This will thoroughly dissolve the baking soda, as well. After the mixture has dried, vacuum it.
Method Two
Use clean paper towels or an old rag to absorb as much of the urine as possible. If you do not know where the urine is or the spot has already dried, locate it by using a black light. Turn off the room lights and pass the black light over the carpet. The spot will glow.
Mix four or five drops of Listerine mouthwash with a cup of hot tap water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the spot until it is saturated.
Allow the spot to dry.
Repeat the application as needed.
